Ortles - Normal Route

With 3905 meters, "King Ortler" is the highest peak in South Tyrol.

The challenging ascent is rewarded at the summit with a spectacular view from the Bernina region to the Dolomites.
The start is early in the morning from the Payer Hut and leads us first over a rocky section in easy climbing on the glacier and finally over a steep firn flank on the heavily glaciated summit plateau to the summit. The descent follows the same route.
